These smartboards are for 6 worth of teaching lessons based on Street child. The lessons focus on chapters 1-6. These lessons are focused on the key reading skills in question style questions. The lessons are based on preparing the children for year 6 SATS. The lessons focus on being able to understand unfamiliar words in the text ( 2 lessons), making inferences and summarise key events, find the key words and retrieve information. Smartboards include the whole lesson and activities for most of the lessons.

This smartboard is aimed for upper key stage 2 and links to the topic of Victorians and the workhouse life. This smartboard has over 70 slides that supports the learning of the children. The use of Street Child , the book , is used in these lesson as. The lessons focus are to: -to plan and then write a diary of child living in a workhouse - 3 lessons -to plan and write a report on the workhouses - 5 lessons Each of the lessons has a starter , main activity and modelling and plenaries. All the learning is conducted through a range of activities from group work, visuals and videos. The starters are sometimes linked to the writing genre and some are grammar starters for the lessons. All the resources are on the smartboards and the only resourcing you may wish to do is a word mat. A great detailed resource that ensures the children are using and applying their knowledge into two different forms of writing. Please leave positive feedback

This smartboard links looks at evacuation in WW2. The lesson uses Carrie's War video to look at what evacuation was before the bulk of the lesson being focused on evacuees. The children work together to explore the feelings and thoughts of the evacuees when they are on the platform. The main task allows children to collect ideas using adjectives, similes, metaphors etc. Tasks are differentiated and there is a whole lesson with introduction, main task and plenary. This lesson can be the preliminary lesson before a writing lesson based on writing a recount, letter or diary of evacuation.

The lesson looks at identifying verb, noun, adjectives etc in a sentence but also looking at the different times to use capital letters. The writing is based around the sugar tax and the pros and cons of this for different people.
